FEDERAL INACTION: RECENT TRENDS IN CONSUMPTION AND EMISSIONS IN THE US

There is a narrative in the US that the lack of federal commitment to mitigate emissions is not a problem now that businesses, cities and states have pledged action. But how correct is this narrative? Can the US meet its Paris Agreement goal without the support from the federal government? We mine the database to find some answers.

NEW MARKET MECHANISM UNDER THE PARIS AGREEMENT

The proposal, submitted to the UNFCCC in 2018, elaborates how the New Market Mechanism under the Paris Agreement should be designed to achieve real carbon emission reductions. It also proposes a non-market mechanism to enhance the sequestration of carbon on land and forests.

THE GLOBAL GOAL ON ADAPTATION

The Paris Agreement talks about a Global Goal on Adaptation without exemplifying what that goal should be. This report proposes a completely new framework on adaptation and how a global goal can be constructed around it.

GLOBAL APPROACHES TO ADAPTATION PLANNING

The report reviews the approaches to adaptation followed by different countries—developed and developing—in an attempt to understand the best way to plan adaptation.
